Ford is shaking things up in the Explorer family, keeping America’s favorite rugged SUV feeling as fresh as ever. It was revealed in January that the 2020 Explorer ST and Explorer Hybrid will join the lineup with the launch of the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer later this year, bringing more variety to the table than ever before.
“This new generation of Explorer recognizes that every family — and every driver — is unique,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford executive vice president for product development and purchasing. “With an all-new ST and an all-new hybrid, there truly is an Explorer for every adventure.”
If you want performance-oriented power, the 2020 Ford Explorer ST will be the vehicle for you. It’s the most powerful and fun-to-drive Ford SUV yet, utilizing a high-output 3.0-liter EcoBoost® engine to offer an exhilarating 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 2020 Ford Explorer Hybrid offers superior efficiency to ease any pain you may feel at the pump. Its 3.3-liter hybrid powertrain will have an estimated total system output of 318 horsepower, meaning it’s no slouch in the performance department, either. It’s expected to get an EPA-estimated range of up to 500 miles between fill-ups, making it an incredibly well-rounded choice.
The 2020 Explorer ST and the Explorer Hybrid are expected to join the 2020 Ford Explorer lineup in the summer. If you want to be among the first to take one of these exciting vehicles for a test drive, give us a call at Dave Smith Ford.
